About the role of HLTA
  • Support and cover Year 3 and Year 4 classes, leading learning in the teacher\'s absence
  • Deliver PPA cover and other planned teaching responsibilities confidently
  • Accompany the class on weekly swimming sessions, working alongside the support team
  • Lead small-group and 1:1 interventions such as:
    • Phonics
    • Pre-teaching
    • Guided reading
    • (Ideally) Speech and Language support
Requirements for the HLTA role
  • Must hold HLTA status
  • Experience leading learning and teaching in a Primary classroom setting
  • Confident in managing a class and delivering planned lessons
  • Experience in phonics, guided reading, and targeted interventions
  • A team player with a proactive and positive attitude
  • (Desirable) Experience delivering Speech and Language interventions
