Join a welcoming mainstream school in Milton Keynes as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant with a focus on Special Educational Needs, starting June 2025. Help create an inclusive, supportive environment where every child can thrive.
As an HLTA, you will support pupils with SEN across the school, working closely with teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals. You will help deliver targeted support, assist in whole-class teaching, and ensure all learners can access the curriculum effectively.
Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including delivering targeted interventions
Provide whole-class support and cover supervision when required
Assist in implementing personalised learning and behaviour plans
Adapt resources to meet diverse learning needs
Monitor and report on pupil progress
Work collaboratively with SENCO, teachers, and external specialists
Promote an inclusive and positive classroom environment
Proven experience supporting children with SEN (e.g., dyslexia, speech/language needs, autism)
HLTA qualification or equivalent senior TA experience
Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and personalised learning
Read Write Inc. experience is desirable but not essential
Confident supporting whole-class learning and small groups
Empathetic, patient, and committed to pupil progress and well-being
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Supportive and inclusive staff team
