Job summary

Avanti Meadows in Bishop’s Stortford is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to contribute to teaching and learning, delivering engaging activities across individuals, groups and classes. You will support pupil progress, assess and provide targeted interventions, and work with teachers to plan and evaluate learning while maintaining high standards across the school.

The successful candidate will have HLTA status or equivalent, strong literacy and numeracy, and experience with SEND.

Qualifications

• HLTA status or equivalent qualification or experience.
• Strong literacy and numeracy (NVQ Level 2 in English and Maths preferred).
• Experience working with children with additional learning needs (SEND).
• Ability to build excellent working relationships with parents and carers.
• Strong ability to observe, monitor and provide constructive feedback on pupil progress.
• Commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of children.

• Contribute to wider school life, including safeguarding, compliance, enrichment activities, use of ICT and supporting colleagues where appropriate.

We are looking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant who can make a strong contribution to teaching and learning at Avanti Meadows.

The role involves delivering learning activities, supporting pupil progress and working collaboratively with teachers to ensure effective provision for all learners, including those with additional needs.

You will take an active role in assessment, feedback and classroom practice, helping to maintain high standards across the school. This is a varied position with real impact on pupil outcomes.

Avanti Meadows is a brand-new primary school in Bishop’s Stortford. Surrounded by fields and new housing estates, the school is a centre for the new community developing in the north of Bishop’s Stortford. The school is rated “good” with “outstanding” in personal development.

What are we looking for?

• HLTA status or equivalent qualification or experience.
