We're Recruiting!
Since their creation, Hampshire’s Hives have been extremely popular with many of our foster carers. In fact, we know that some of our new foster carers chose Fostering Hampshire Children because they were keen to be part of a Hive community and we are delighted that there are now 380 families in Hampshire’s 27 Hives.
This Hive will cover additional support to our Hampshire Fostering families within the Dorset and surrounding areas. If you live in or close to the Dorset area and are interested in applying to become a HCSW, we would love to hear from you.
The Hive Carer Support Worker (HCSW)will take on the role of co-ordinating and supporting the foster families who are part of their support network (Hive).
They should be able to respond to all sorts of fostering concerns and be able to offer advice and provide emotional and practical support to the foster families in their network.
The Hive Carer Support Worker will work in the best interests of the child and alongside those professionals involved in the child’s care.
The long-term aim is to implement Hives across Hampshire over time, meaning the location and size of the Hives will vary depending on the needs in the area, and the areas where candidates are based.
Hive Carer Support Worker Ben has shared what a day in the life of a HCSW can look like and how they balance the role with fostering.
This role is primarily remote, however, occasional attendance at our office located at Totton Hub in Totton is required.

You’ll organise and lead support groups and family events, plan training sessions, and work closely with professionals to support children in care. The role also involves contributing to recruitment efforts, delivering training, supporting fellow Hive workers, and engaging in ongoing development of the Hampshire Hive model all while maintaining your own professional growth.

We offer a flexible, motivating and inclusive workplace. We have created an environment that you can look forward to being a part of, where you are empowered to be your best and a workplace built on teamwork where people can grow and develop in their roles.
