Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust has a vacancy for a locum specialty doctor in the integrated sexual health department in the North locality of Sexual Health services to commence from February 2026 for 6 months with a potential to extend it for up to one year. This post provides excellent experience in Genito-urinary Medicine and HIV. The post holder is primarily based between Basingstoke and Eastleigh.
The department is one of the largest integrated services in the South of England providing high quality services in the management of sexually transmitted infections (STI), HIV, contraceptive services, outreach clinics, outpatient gynaecology scanning, psychosexual services and dedicated clinics for MSM and vulnerable patient groups. The post holder will be required to work in a mixture of same day and booked appointment clinics managing patients with symptomatic STIs and HIV and be part of HIV weekly MDT. There will be an initial induction package to support the training of the post holder in aspects where they lack previous experience. The post holder will need to be confident in working in an independent manner and to be able to ask for help where appropriate. The team includes Consultants, Specialty Doctors, sexual health nurses, health advisers, health care assistants, the HIV pharmacy team and sexual health promotion team.
