Job summary

Outwood Academy Acklam in Middlesbrough is seeking a Teacher of History (1 year maternity cover) to deliver high-quality learning across KS3 and KS4, using AfL and data to raise achievement.

The post is 32.5 hours per week, term-time, Monday to Friday, with salary £32,916–£45,352. The role may include humanities combined option for the right candidate, and a strong commitment to safeguarding and professional development.

Qualifications

• Essential: degree in an appropriate discipline and teaching qualification with QTS.
• Recent teaching experience and assessment experience at KS3/KS4.
• Ability to use AfL strategies and data to raise standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality learning using a range of teaching strategies.
• Use student data to identify development areas and raise standards.
• Maintain high expectations and communicate with students and parents.
• Collaborate with the department and share best practice.
