Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging lessons across KS3, GCSE, and A-Level History
Foster a classroom environment that encourages debate, critical thinking, and independent research
Prepare students for success in public examinations and university applications
Support enrichment activities such as history clubs, debating societies, essay competitions, and educational trips
Contribute to the wider life of the school through pastoral responsibilities and co-curricular involvement
Person Specification
Essential:
A strong academic background with a degree in History or a related discipline
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
Experience teaching History across KS3 KS5, ideally in a selective or independent setting
A passion for engaging boys in academic discussion and historical thinking
Excellent communication skills and high standards of professionalism
Desirable:
Experience with Oxbridge/academic extension programmes
Interest in leading trips, clubs, or competitions related to History
A keen interest in boys education and the unique ways boys learn and thrive
