Landau Forte Academy Tamworth Sixth Form is seeking a qualified History teacher to join a high-performing team. The role starts January 2027 and is permanent, with a typical 40.75 hours per week and a 52-week contract.

The post offers M/UPS and a Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR) where applicable. You will join a well-supported academy with a strong CPD programme, opportunities within a supportive Multi Academy Trust, and access to LGPS or TPS pension schemes.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher status and a degree, with experience meeting the appointment's challenge.
• Ability to teach History to a range of ages and abilities.
• Commitment to improving outcomes for all students in History.
• Interest in latest developments in History teaching and methods.
• Excellent relationships with students and parents; strong communication skills.
• Willingness to explore innovative and dynamic teaching approaches.
• High levels of enthusiasm, resilience and energy in the classroom and beyond.

Responsibilities

• Ensure teaching, learning and assessment meet learners' needs and align with curricular maps and exam syllabi.
• Provide direction for student learning within your remit and collaborate with staff on enrichment activities.
• Set high standards and provide guidance, support and recognition for staff and students.
• Plan and deliver departmental learning programmes using flexible approaches including online learning.
• Set attainment targets and monitor progress against targets and benchmarks.
• Evaluate attainment and progress against academy targets and national benchmarks.
