Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is working with a secondary school in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, to recruit a knowledgeable History teacher who can deliver engaging lessons and help students develop their historical understanding.

The role would suit an experienced practitioner or an appropriately qualified teacher looking to develop their career within a supportive secondary setting, with a focus on safeguarding, assessment and student development.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an appropriate recognised teaching qualification.
• Strong subject knowledge and the ability to communicate historical concepts clearly.
• Experience teaching History at secondary level, with familiarity with the relevant curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering engaging History lessons across the relevant secondary key stages.
• Teaching historical events, themes and interpretations in line with the curriculum.
• Developing students' source analysis, evidence-based writing and critical thinking.
• Assessing progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching to meet different learning needs.
• Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, participation and academic achievement.
• Contributing to departmental planning and working collaboratively with colleagues.
