Career Teachers are recruiting for a Teacher of History and RE for a secondary school in Loughborough. This full-time, long-term cover role begins 4th January 2027, teaching History and RE across KS3 to KS5 within a supportive Humanities department.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons, assess progress, and contribute to school enrichment while upholding high behaviour standards and safeguarding. Commitment to inclusive teaching is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong subject knowledge in History or RE up to KS4.
• Excellent communication and ability to explain complex ideas clearly.
• Effective behaviour management and classroom routines.
• Ability to differentiate for mixed-ability groups.
• Willingness to collaborate within the Humanities department.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons in History and RE that challenge and inspire students.
• Assess and track progress, providing timely feedback to support student achievement.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and create a positive learning environment.
• Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of mixed-ability groups across all key stages.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency across the Humanities curriculum.
