Job summary

Pearson is recruiting a GCE History (New Specification) Moderator to review centre assessments in line with Pearson's procedures and marking criteria. Moderators handle a specified number of samples and may perform direct assessment when centres do not.

The role requires one academic year's teaching experience within the last eight years, a degree or equivalent, and qualified teacher status. The training and marking period runs May to June.

Qualifications

• One academic year's worth of teaching experience within the last 8 years.
• A degree or equivalent is required.
• You will be a qualified teacher.

Responsibilities

• Moderate parts of a subject examination, such as coursework, projects and special studies, marked initially by teachers in centres and then sent for moderation.
• Carry out moderation with sampling procedures.
• Undertake direct assessment of school-based components where centres opt not to make initial assessments.
