Job summary

CRUK Scotland Institute in Glasgow is seeking a Scientific Officer in Histology to join the team. The role covers production and maintenance of the Histology department, including microtomy and tissue handling.

We value experience in histology techniques, immunohistochemistry, in-situ hybridisation, and digital slide scanning; training is available. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in biomedical science is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biomedical science or similar.
• Experience with histology procedures and techniques to support Histology Services.
• Ability to work independently and in a team with good communication and organisation.

Responsibilities

• Assist and conduct procedures for production and maintenance of Histology department.
• Apply skills including microtomy, tissue embedding, specimen reception, tissue handling and dissection.
• Support immunohistochemistry, in-situ hybridisation, cryomicrotomy and digital slide scanning as needed.
