Job summary

The Speedy Group UK&I is hiring a Hire Controller in Bury St Edmunds. This desk-based role supports the front line of sales and customer service, coordinating the complete hire process from order through delivery and collection.

Working Mon-Fri 07:30-17:00, you will liaise with stock teams, drivers and engineers to meet customer needs. The salary is £29,572 per annum, with additional benefits and opportunities for development.

Qualifications

• Proven strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to learn and adapt in a fast-paced hire environment.
• Driving licence required.
• Previous experience in hire industry or related sales/ops role.
• Ability to support ESG Strategy delivery – Decade to Deliver.

Responsibilities

Job Title: Hire Controller

Location: Bury St Edmunds

Working Hours: Mon - Fri, 07:30 - 17:00 - 42 hours per week

Salary: £29,572 Per Annum

Based in the depot, the Hire Controller is a vital part of operations on the front line of sales and customer service. Relationship building is the key to success, as the Hire Controller coordinates the entire hire process from taking the order through to delivery and collection, liaising with every part of the depot to ensure the needs of the customer are met and that they're satisfied with our service.

On a day-to-day basis, you can expect to be desk-based, working directly with the other departments, liaising regularly with stock teams, drivers and engineers to ensure minimal delay in fulfilling the needs of the customer with readily available equipment and close contact.
