We’re recruiting on behalf of a leading construction services provider who is looking to hire a Hire Controller to join their dynamic team based in Bristol.
As the Hire Controller, you’ll play a central role in managing day-to-day hire desk operations, ensuring plant and equipment is effectively allocated, customer needs are met promptly, and all documentation is accurately processed.
This is a key position for someone with a strong background in hire desk coordination, administration, and customer service, ideally within the construction, engineering, or plant hire industry.
Manage all plant hire desk enquiries from existing and new customers
Allocate equipment to meet customer and site requirements
Arrange transport to and from site, liaising with haulage contractors and checking invoices
Administer equipment inspection records and ensure certificates are up to date
Issue hire contracts and associated documentation in a timely manner
Operate hire control software to track availability, deliveries, and consumable costs
Liaise daily with customers, suppliers, and transport companies
Raise purchase orders and issue customer invoices
Respond to and action all site and customer requests
Provide regular reports for Directors and customers as required
Deliver exceptional customer service at all times
Previous experience in a Hire Controller, Hire Desk Coordinator, or Plant Hire Administrator role
Strong knowledge of plant hire, construction equipment, or logistics
Excellent administrative and organisational skills
Confident using hire software and Microsoft Office
Able to communicate clearly and professionally with customers and suppliers
Proactive and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Competitive salary between £30,000 - £35,000 per annum (DOE)
