Job summary

Johnson & Johnson’s Orthopaedics division is seeking an Associate Development Engineer to join the Hip New Product Development team in Leeds, UK. You will work with a multi-functional group of engineers to design and develop implants and instruments that advance hip surgery.

The role offers opportunities to collaborate with surgeons and cross-functional teams, manage project timelines, and contribute to products from feasibility through commercialization in a fast-paced medical devices

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent is required.
• 0-2 years of work experience in R&D/medical devices preferred.
• Experience in design, development and analysis of engineering projects.
• Excellent communication with project teams, management and surgeons.
• Strong ability to manage multiple development projects to completion.

Responsibilities

• Generate design concepts and prototypes; perform evaluations and risk analysis.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing engineering and suppliers to optimize for manufacturability.
• Define timelines with Project Management and provide status updates.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of product lines and musculoskeletal anatomy.
