Job summary

DePuy Synthes, part of Johnson & Johnson, is seeking an Associate Development Engineer to join the Hip New Product Development Team based in Leeds, UK (with potential Warsaw option).

You will work with engineers to design and develop implant products and surgical instruments advancing hip surgery. From feasibility through commercialization, you’ll focus on manufacturability and transferring designs to production.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• 0-2 years of work experience is required.
• Engineering design, development and analysis skills are expected.
• Ability to interface with project teams, management and surgeons.
• Strong project management and communication skills are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Generate design concepts and prototypes; perform evaluations and support verification/validation plans.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing engineering and suppliers to optimize for manufacturability.
• Define development timelines with Project Management and provide status updates.
• Develop in-depth product knowledge and understanding of musculoskeletal pathologies.
• Work across functions and geographies with strong teamwork and collaboration.
