Highways Technology Technician

The Highways Technician will work in conjunction with the Service Delivery Manager to develop and improve all Technology Performance across the designated assets contract. The role is primarily a day shift, 8 hours, with occasional night shifts required for fault rectification and maintenance on technology assets across the Highways Network.

Responsibilities include taking a proactive, reactive, and planned maintenance approach within the network area, liaising daily with the Lead Engineer to allocate inspections and maintenance schedules, and ensuring response times and maintenance obligations are met. The technician will assist in developing maintenance programmes and coordinate maintenance resources and third-party support.

Key Duties:
  • Planned maintenance and network issue escalation
  • Identify and escalate network issues or improvements
Requirements:
  • Must have a valid Driving Licence
  • Relevant sector training (ideally HERS Sector 8)
  • ONC or B/TEC Ordinary National Certificate in Electronic Engineering or equivalent
