Job summary

Streetmason is recruiting in Leicester (LE4) for a Streetmason or Streetmason Improver to support highway maintenance and public realm improvement projects with a local council-style team.

This hands-on, outdoor role is five days a week, with overtime and an out-of-hours standby rota. Training in NRSWA, CSCS and plant operation may be provided to help you develop your technical skills and safety practices.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction, highways or streetmasonry roles.
• Ability to lay paving to defined standards.
• Knowledge of materials, compaction and workmanship requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lay paving products (slabs, kerbs, blocks, natural stone).
• Interpret drawings and work instructions for accuracy.
• Carry out highway construction and maintenance tasks safely.
• Handle, lay and compact construction materials.
• Undertake banksman duties and assist with excavators.
• Maintain safe working areas for colleagues and road users.
• Identify site hazards and follow health and safety procedures.
• Complete paperwork and measurements.
• Collaborate with colleagues to meet deadlines.
