Job summary

First People Solutions in Glasgow are recruiting a Highways Site Technician to join a leading civil engineering consultancy. You will perform on-site inspections, audits and monitoring across Scotland's trunk road network, ensuring compliance with contracts and standards.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent, or relevant highways/civil engineering experience.
• 2+ years of experience in highways, roads, or civil engineering.
• Experience carrying out site inspections, monitoring and reporting preferred.
• Good knowledge of roads construction and maintenance preferred.
• Good understanding of highways maintenance and construction works.
• Ability to review records, quantities and works completed on site accurately.
• Strong reporting and communication skills.
• Full clean driving licence and able to work on-site.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspections, audits and monitoring in accordance with agreed programmes
• Inspect, audit and monitor asset inventory collection and updating across the roads network
• Carry out site inspections and issue notices based on observations in accordance with Supplier contracts
• Verify Supplier records are accurate and that works have been completed in accordance with specifications and contract documentation
• Verify quantities and values claimed by Suppliers and ensure these provide a true record of works undertaken
• Contribute to reports and information required
• Maintain a strong understanding of the relevant Supplier contracts and contractual requirements

First People Solutions is working with a leading consulting engineer who are looking for a Site Technician to join their team, working on behalf of a major public sector client across Scotland's trunk road network.

The role will focus on carrying out inspections, auditing and monitoring of road and structures assets, ensuring Suppliers are delivering works in accordance with contractual requirements, specifications and good practice.

This is a great opportunity for a Civil Engineering Technician or experienced highways professional looking for a site-based role with responsibility for inspection, compliance and quality across a major roads network.

The Role

• Carry out inspections, audits and monitoring in accordance with agreed programmes
