Job summary

Cormac in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Assistant Service Delivery Manager to join our Highways Operations Team, supporting a major highways maintenance contract. You will lead a diverse programme of works, coordinating across client teams and supply chain to keep highways safe and on schedule.

Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, you will plan works, manage subcontractors, and ensure projects meet safety, quality and commercial requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience within highways maintenance or civil engineering.
• Strong planning and organisational skills.
• Experience coordinating operational teams or subcontractors.
• Good commercial awareness and the ability to programme and cost works.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• A proactive approach to health, safety and quality.
• Knowledge of highway maintenance techniques and construction legislation.
• Experience of traffic management, estimating, contract management and CDM would be highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the delivery of highway maintenance and construction schemes.
• Planning and coordinating multiple work programmes.
• Managing subcontractors and ensuring works are delivered safely and efficiently.
• Monitoring programme performance, quality and commercial outcomes.
• Carrying out safety, environmental and quality inspections.
• Developing work packages and ensuring compliance with CDM and Health & Safety legislation.
• Building strong relationships with clients, operational teams and supply chain partners.
• Supporting contract performance through KPI monitoring and continuous improvement.
• Leading daily operational briefings and promoting a positive safety culture.
• Participating in the out-of-hours operational rota.
