Job summary

Paramount Personnel seeks a Highways Operative for the Okehampton, Devon area to perform excavation, kerb and slab levelling, drainage and gully installations on-site. You will work in a team to deliver high-quality highway maintenance tasks, with emphasis on safety, efficiency, and reliability.

Key requirements include a valid driving licence, CSCS card, and willingness to work flexible hours. GMP experience and HGV class 2 is desirable; on-site pattern is Monday–Friday with potential shifts as

Responsibilities

• Carry out excavation works and kerb/slab/bitumen levelling.
• Lay and level kerbs, slabs and bitumen macadam.
• Install drainage and gullies.

Our client requires Highways Operatives in the Okehampton area to carry out tasks such as excavation works, laying and levelling of kerbs, slabs and bitumen macadam, drainage and gully installations.

Successful candidates for the role of Highways Operative should have:

• Experience / knowledge required in using electronic devices
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Good knowledge of the respective area they have been employed to work.
• Ability to carry out work to a high standard.
• Reasonable knowledge of machine maintenance
• Good communication skills

Applicants must have:

• Driving Licence
• CSCS card
• Class 2 HGV licence (desirable but not essential)
• Willingness and flexiblity to undertake some shifts out of normal working hours
• Willingness to carry out other tasks upon request
• Good timekeeping skills

Hours of work:

Monday to Friday 07.15 a.m. – 16.00 p.m.

Rate of Pay

£13.00-£13.50 per hour depending upon experience.
