Job summary

North East Lincolnshire Council is seeking an Engineer (Operations Supervisor) to support and coordinate frontline highway operations. The role involves delivering highway maintenance and winter service activities to keep the network safe, accessible and resilient throughout the year.

The successful candidate will supervise teams, manage contractors, and ensure work is carried out safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising frontline operations and coordinating teams.
• Strong understanding of highway maintenance, health and safety legislation and traffic management requirements.
• Desirable Street Works (NRSWA) qualification and ability to access operational sites safely at any time.

Responsibilities

• Support and coordinate frontline highway maintenance and winter service activities.
• Oversee traffic management arrangements and promote safe working practices.
• Monitor performance, inspections and delivery of planned and reactive highway works.
• Respond to highway incidents and emergencies to keep the network safe and operational.
