A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Highways Lawyer for their client, Westmorland. This role can be office-based, hybrid, or remote and requires local authority experience. The successful candidate will manage complex caseloads, provide legal advice on highways matters, and be part of a dedicated team focused on delivering excellent service. Our client, Westmorland, is looking for a Highways Lawyer to join their Team.
Can be office based, hybrid or remote - MUST HAVE LOCAL AUTHORITY EXPERIENCE
The team work in a busy pressurised environment. The appointed locum will be part of team who are committed to delivering the best possible service for the benefit of our residents and clients.
To be personally responsible for conducting and managing, in accordance with the practice standards of Legal Services, a caseload of files, particularly of a more complex and corporately significant and/or higher risk nature for internal customers.
Experience as a transactional Highways Lawyer and have a good working knowledge in:
Road Traffic Orders
Stopping Up Procedure and Orders
Section 22 Orders
Providing Highways advice to client teams
Providing legal comments in committee reports where there is a highways angle
Section 278 Agreements
Rights of Way, Bridleways, Cycle Tracks
Providing support for junior members of the team if required.
