Job summary

Enerveo is recruiting a Highways Electrician - Testing to support street lighting across Hampshire and Southampton. You will carry out electrical testing on private network street lighting cable systems, fault finding, and report results.

The role is permanent full-time with core hours 07:30–15:30, on-call rota, and requires a recognised electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3) and a UK driving licence; training and progression opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Recognised electrical qualification such as NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation.
• Experience inspecting, testing and fault finding on low voltage street lighting.
• Knowledge of BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations).
• Health and safety compliance incl. Electricity at Work Regulations.
• Ability to read drawings and interpret test results.
• UK driving licence and willingness to travel across contract area.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical testing of private network street lighting cable systems.
• Fault find and diagnose defects; perform remedial works as needed.
• Record and report test results to required standards.
• Assess condition of underground cable infrastructure and equipment.
• Plan testing programmes with minimal disruption; work with operations teams.
• Operate a Mobile Elevated Working Platform (MEWP) when required.
• Ensure work complies with regulations and on-site safety systems.
• Provide high standard of customer service on site; support standby rota.
