Job summary

Aldwych Consulting Ltd is recruiting a Highway Engineer to join its Bristol team, delivering development-led highway schemes from feasibility through to detailed design and construction. You'll work with transport planners, developers and local authorities within a varied project portfolio.

The role requires experience in highways design, AutoCAD and 3D design software, and knowledge of UK standards and S278 agreements. A Civil Engineering degree is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience in a highways design or development infrastructure environment.
• Proven ability to produce highway layouts and detailed designs.
• Good understanding of UK highway standards and approval processes.

Responsibilities

• Producing highway layouts and detailed designs for development schemes, including access arrangements, junctions, roundabouts and associated infrastructure.
• Using 3D design software to develop and coordinate highway designs, alongside vehicle tracking and layout design.
• Supporting highway schemes from feasibility and planning through to detailed design, technical approval and construction.
• Working on S278 and other highway agreements, coordinating with Local Highway Authorities and contributing to the progression of schemes through approval.
• Supporting the design of associated highway drainage and infrastructure where required.
• Working across a varied portfolio, including residential, commercial, retail and mixed-use developments, as well as larger junction and infrastructure schemes.
