Job summary

Ringway Jacobs seeks a capable supervisor to oversee highways capital works across carriageway and footway improvements, structure patching, surface treatment and street furniture upgrades. You will ensure works run to program, safely and within budget, with close liaison to the supply chain and authorities.

Applicants should hold NRSWA/SSSTS/SMSTS/CSCS Supervisor or related qualifications, possess a full driving licence and communicate clearly.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction, preferably highways.
• Ability to supervise work near underground services.
• Experience in supervision or use of traffic management preferred.
• Current, Full Driving Licence.
• Good IT, written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to provide quality and cost-effective solutions.
• Systematic, logical approach to works.
• Maintain high quality standards and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Supervision of allocated works within the annual programme of works.
• Ensuring projects are developed and delivered safely on time and to budget as per the Works Information.
• Ensure that all projects comply with Health and Safety Regulations and CDM requirements.
• Review of Supply Chain Partners Risk Assessments, Method Statements and COSHH for all allocated schemes.
• Carry out site inductions and issue permit to work, promoting RJ’s Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Procedures at all times.
• Co‑ordination and integration of resources to deliver a project or programme, utilising internal staff, shareholder resources, external consultants and contractors as required.
• Ensure Supply Chain Partners deliver to all agreed standards.
• Produce weekly progress reports and complete daily site diaries.
• Supervision of out of hours works either night or weekend working from time to time.
• Other Ad Hoc duties to fulfil the requirement of the role.
