Job summary

Carmichael UK is looking for an experienced Construction Manager to join a flagship highways infrastructure project in Norfolk. You will lead site teams, coordinate multiple work packages, and ensure delivery safe, on programme, and within budget.

Reporting to the Project Director, you will drive health, safety, environment, and quality standards, and work closely with commercial, engineering, planning and stakeholders to mitigate risks and achieve targets.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Construction Manager on major civil/highways projects.
• Experience with Tier 1 main contractors and NEC contracts.
• Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage site teams, subcontractors, and supply chain partners.
• Ensure works meet health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Oversee programme delivery and coordinate construction activities.
• Monitor progress, productivity, and performance against targets.
• Collaborate with commercial, engineering, planning, and stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate risks and resolve site issues.
• Promote a positive safety culture on the project.
• Maintain relationships with clients and local authorities.
