Job description

The role is within the Engineering team on the M25 DBFO, focusing on highway renewal designs. This position involves working on one of Europe's busiest and most strategically important road networks. Effective communication and teamwork are essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Developing, reviewing, and refining design packages, including drawings and specifications for renewal schemes such as filter drains, network drainage, signage, fencing, and VRS, aligned with asset management and client requirements.
  2. Preparing documentation to fulfill the duties of the CDM 2015 Principal Designer and creating work specifications.
  3. Applying quality management processes and ensuring adherence to standards and process compliance with the M25 DBFO Contract.
  4. Collaborating with technical specialists and commercial leads to meet programmes and milestones, building strong cross-functional relationships.
  5. Providing progress updates, managing programmes, and reporting on assigned work.
  6. Chairing performance, technical, and commercial review meetings.
  7. Supplying information to the commercial team for cost estimation.
  8. Candidates with partial experience are encouraged to apply; training and development are available for those with a solid engineering foundation and a proactive attitude.
Essential Knowledge and Experience:
  • Broad knowledge of Design, DMRB, MCHW, TSRGD, and other highways standards.
  • Experience in highway design delivery.
  • Understanding of risk management principles.
  • Minimum BEng / MEng in civil engineering or a related field.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
