Job summary

SLR is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Transport Engineering team. The role focuses on detailed design, feasibility studies and scheme reports for infrastructure projects, with opportunities to lead project budgeting, BOQs and costings.

You will ensure designs comply with specifications, health and safety and CDM requirements, while managing client and stakeholder relationships and supporting junior team members. Hybrid working is available.

Qualifications

• Sound knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and Manual for Streets.
• Ability to engage and conduct effective negotiations with client, stakeholders, subcontractors and third parties.
• Detailed understanding of Health & Safety legislation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed design, feasibility studies and scheme reports for a variety of projects.

• Ensure designs comply with specifications, programme and health and safety/CDM requirements.

Senior Civil Engineer

SLR have a fantastic new opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineer with demonstrable consultancy experience of S278 in a general infrastructure background to join our collaborative and growing Transport Engineering team.

The role

Your key duties will involve the preparation of detailed design, feasibility studies and scheme reports on a variety of projects.

Alongside this, you will also have the opportunity to take responsibility for project management, budgeting, producing bill of quantities, and costings.

• Provide assurance that scheme designs comply with specification and agreed programme
• Work to ensure designs comply with health and safety regulations and CDM requirements
• Alongside colleagues, ensure designs are assessed for environmental impacts
• Manage relationships with clients, stakeholders and third parties
• Coordinate with other team members associated with the design
• Support junior team members working on projects

About you

We are looking for an Engineer with consulting experience around the design and management of the Section 278/38 process, as well as:

• Sound knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and Manual for Streets
• Ability to engage and conduct effective negotiations with client, stakeholders, subcontractors and third parties
• Detailed understanding of Health & Safety legislation
• Competent in use of Civils 3D
