Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is recruiting an Assistant Engineer to support highway advance design across schemes, including junction design, walking and cycling improvements, ITS, and safety schemes. You'll contribute to early concept design and optioneering informed by data analysis and junction modelling.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in civil engineering.
• Experience gathering essential data and asset information on-site.
• Experience developing and managing civil engineering projects with preliminary cost estimates.
• Strong written and verbal communication with customers/clients.
• Ability to interpret maps and plans using design software.

Responsibilities

• Assist in highway advance design for schemes including junction improvements and walking/cycling measures.
• Support capital programme delivery and future government funding bids.
• Prepare technical reports and preliminary cost estimates in line with industry standards.
• Collaborate with Senior Engineers to deliver schemes within time and cost targets.
