An NHS trust seeks a systemic psychotherapist for its new T1DE service, focusing on treating patients with type 1 diabetes and eating disorders. This role offers the chance to work collaboratively in a supportive environment, with training provided for those lacking diabetes experience. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in eating disorders, with opportunities for staff training and development.
Job summary
The post holder will work with inpatients and community patients with type 1 diabetes and disordered eating (T1DE) within the newly established T1DE service. The Aspen Centre is a 15 bed inpatient unit for severe eating disorders and the T1DE service is a nationally funded NHS England service based within the Clinic for Eating Disorders and Diabetes at the Aspen Centre and sits under the Coventry and Warwickshire Eating Disorder Service.
Main duties of the jobThe post holder's work will be divided flexibly between the inpatients and community patients presenting with T1DE depending on need.
The post holder will have extensive experience and specialist skills in working with people with eating disorders. Experience in diabetes is not essential and training will be provided in this area. The post holder will work in collaboration with other members of the inpatient team and as part of the multidisciplinary T1DE team.
The post may also include providing advice and consultation to colleagues and other professionals, involvement in service planning and development, staff training and research and development if appropriate.
