Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

What you'll be working: Our standard working hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We support a positive work-life balance and encourage flexible working arrangements. Please discuss your needs with us, and we will do our best to accommodate your preferences.

What you'll be doing:

  1. Provide specialist Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) assessment and treatment for patients with physical, cognitive, communication, and behavioural difficulties caused by neurological insult and acquired brain injury.
  2. Devise evidence-based therapy programmes at a specialist level, emphasizing multidisciplinary collaboration to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  3. Independently plan and lead communication therapy groups.
  4. Maintain high standards of clinical care in line with national guidelines.
  5. Ensure cohesive goal-setting and therapy as a Named Therapist, including coordinating discharges.
  6. Supervise less experienced SLTs and/or assistants as per ACG policy.
  7. Participate in induction and training of other IDT members as appropriate.
  8. Uphold all relevant codes of practice and regulations.
  9. Contribute to policy and service development initiatives related to SLT.
  10. Ensure safety and protect patients' human rights.
