We are looking for a motivated and experienced Highly Specialist Renal Dietitian to lead, develop, and deliver a high-quality dietetic service for adult patients with kidney disease across all stages of care.

This is a pivotal role offering expert clinical input, service leadership, and supervision of both specialist and junior dietitians. Working closely with the renal multidisciplinary team, you will make a meaningful impact on the lives of patients with complex renal needs.

Your role will include providing expert input on the renal wards at Gloucestershire Hospitals, leading outpatient clinics, supporting patients at haemodialysis centres, and managing those receiving peritoneal dialysis. You will collaborate closely with specialist nurses, pharmacists, psychologists, and consultants to deliver truly holistic, patient-centred care.

You will join a friendly, well-established team comprising seven consultants, specialist nurses, AHPs, and expert renal dietitians committed to delivering the highest standards of nutritional care. We are proud to support career development, with opportunities to undertake the Supplementary Prescribing course, engage in renal research, and contribute to or lead on service development and quality improvement projects. You will contribute to dietetic education through the clinical training of students on placement and by delivering teaching in renal dietetics within a university setting.

The proposed interview date is: 4th September

Manage your own caseload with a high degree of autonomy, demonstrating flexibility, self-motivation, and the ability to prioritise effectively in a busy clinical environment.

Assertive time management and the ability to adapt to changing demands are essential.

Provide line management and clinical supervision to renal dietitians, including oversight of caseload allocation, service planning, and the delivery of high-quality care.

Conduct appraisals, mentorship, and professional development planning to support staff growth and performance.
