Job summary

Highly Specialist Practitioner Psychologist or Senior CBTp Therapist (EIP & ARMS)
Full-Time | Permanent | South West Essex
Welcome Bonus: 10% of salary on start date and another 10% after 12 months.

Are you looking for a role that offers real variety, professional challenge, and the chance to make a meaningful impact?

We're inviting applications for a unique and rewarding position across our well-established Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) service and our newly launched At Risk Mental States (ARMS) service in South West Essex.

This is not a one-dimensional clinical post -- you'll be using your skills across clinical work, supervision, management and service development, making a real difference at every level.

What's on Offer?

  1. A split role across two progressive services:
  2. ESTEP (Essex Support and Treatment for Early Psychosis) - an established, multidisciplinary team providing integrated medical, psychological and psychosocial interventions.
  3. ARMS - a newly developed, psychology-led service supporting young people aged 14-35 who are at heightened risk of developing psychosis.
  4. An exciting chance to take on a varied and senior post, with scope for clinical work, team supervision, management duties, and leading service development initiatives.
  5. Collaborative working across Inclusion Thurrock and Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) - benefiting from a rich multidisciplinary environment.

Main duties of the job

  • Delivering NICE-compliant, specialist psychological therapies, including CBT for psychosis (CBTp).
  • Providing clinical supervision to other team members and contributing to staff development.
  • Taking on managerial responsibilities, including service reporting and team support.
  • Leading and contributing to ongoing service development, helping shape the future of EIP and ARMS in the region.
  • Being an active member of the Inclusion Thurrock Senior Leadership Team, reporting on outcomes and contributing to wider service strategy.
  • Collaborating with MDTs, attending team meetings, and supporting integrated care.

What We're Looking For

  • HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist, or BABCP accreditation as a CBTp therapist.
  • Experience working with individuals with complex mental health needs, ideally within early intervention or youth services.
  • A willingness to undertake CBTp training if not already qualified.
  • A confident and organised approach to working across a broad geographical area (Thurrock, Basildon, Brentwood, Billericay) - travel is part of the role.
