Job summary

North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust in Peterborough is seeking an enthusiastic part-time Highly Specialist Physiotherapist to lead neonatal paediatric physiotherapy within the neonatal unit and SCBU.

You will deliver developmentally informed care for high-risk infants, supervise junior staff, and drive service development across sites, with a strong emphasis on audit, governance and evidence-based practice.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy and HCPC registration.
• Post-graduate training in paediatrics/neonatal care.
• NHS experience at a senior level in paediatric/ neonatal settings.
• Clinical experience on a neonatal unit and with preterm/high-risk infants.
• Experience working in a MDT and contributing to audits.

Responsibilities

• Lead neonatal paediatric physiotherapy service development across sites.
• Assess and treat a complex neonatal caseload and guide treatment plans.
• Provide supervision and training to junior staff and students.
• Deliver developmentally informed care and participate in governance and audits.

Job description

A unique opportunity has arisen for a part time Band 7 highly specialist Physiotherapist to join the team at North West Anglia Foundation trust. This is a developing and exciting role within the paediatric therapy service to offer comprehensive neonatal physiotherapy assessment and treatment. The post holder will work within a passionate neonatal AHP neonatal team supported by the paediatric therapy team and wider MDT. The role will play a key part in delivering developmentally informed care, impacting on the lives of high-risk infants., The Highly Specialist physiotherapist working with the Paediatric Therapy Team develops the quality of the clinical service and staff that deliver it. The post holder will work using an enhanced level of practice applying specialist knowledge and skills in the field of Paediatric and Neonatal physiotherapy. Working within the neonatal multi-disciplinary team they will assess and treat a specialist complex caseload of patients and make clinical decisions for treatment plans. They will act as the profession specific lead to support the training and development of the clinical staff within the Paediatric therapy team and wider multidisciplinary team. To lead on service development, audit and assist in research initiatives to deliver on best practice evidence-based care in line with trust and national priorities. We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven physiotherapist to lead this service across our hospital's neonatal unit and special care baby unit. The post holder will be required to work at Peterborough and Hinchingbrooke Hospital sites. You must have demonstrated a strong clinical background in paediatric and or neonatal physiotherapy, working within the acute and or community environment. This post offers the opportunity to work with East of England Operational Delivery Network group for neonatal care for high-risk premature babies. There is expectation that the post holder will have a strong interest in service development, audit and research. The successful candidate will be required to be able to work flexibly to meet the needs of a growing service. Interviews for this role will be conducted in person to assess relevant skills effectively.,

• Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy

• Evidence of post graduate training/qualification relevant to clinical area -paediatrics / Neonatal, NHS experience working at senior level
