We are seeking an experienced Physiotherapist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide care at a special school for children with complex needs and learning difficulties in Ealing, working with children aged 2-11 years old. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, teaching staff, Learning Support Assistants, Educational Social Workers, and School Nurses.
The role involves assessing and treating children referred to physiotherapy at the school, training and supporting school staff in managing the children’s physiotherapy needs, and supporting families at home. We offer multidisciplinary assessments, joint clinics, CPIPs assessments, shared care clinics with neuro-orthopaedics, and an orthotics service.
Effective multidisciplinary and agency working is essential. We maintain strong relationships with colleagues in health, education, and social care, and prioritize proactive, collaborative partnership working between the NHS and schools. We have close links with tertiary centres in London and work jointly with Chelsea and Westminster for our neuro-orthopaedic pathway.
Professional development is supported through in-service training and external courses aligned with your personal development plan. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, experienced in community paediatric physiotherapy, and possess excellent communication skills with an interest in developing services to meet children’s needs. The post involves providing high-standard physiotherapy interventions and developing services for children from Nursery to Year 6 with complex needs at Mandeville Primary Special School. You will deliver evidence-based practice, work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, and represent the department at relevant meetings. You will also lead clinical audits and research projects, and deliver specialist training to physiotherapists, professionals, and parents/carers.
