Job summary

Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting an Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist to join the Home Treatment Teams, focusing on crisis-related care for adults. You will deliver expert assessment, formulation and interventions to support recovery and safe discharge.

You will provide clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary team, promote meaningful occupations, and help develop the service in a patient-centered, stigma-free environment.

Qualifications

• Must be HCPC registered as an Occupational Therapist.
• Experience in mental health crisis care preferred.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership.

Job description

We are delighted to introduce occupational therapy across our all age Home Treatment Teams as part of the service delivery model designed to enhance comunity based crisis care and improve outcomes for people over 18 years who are experiencing an mental health crisis.

This is a unique opportunity to shape and develop occupational therapy provision within a dynamic multidisciplinary team, bringing an occupational perspective to crisis intervention, recovery-focused care, and admission avoidance pathways. As a newly established role, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to influence service development, strengthen occupational therapy leadership within the team, and contribute to the future direction of home treatment services.

As the Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist within the team you will be providing expert occupational therapy assessment, formulation and interventions for people who are experiencing acute mental health crisis and their families. Your occupationally focused interventions will support recovery, independence and participation in meaningful occupations. You will work collaborative within a multi-disciplinary team to support people to remain at home during a crisis and support timely discharges from hospital.

Promoting health and independence for people who use our services and their families/carers/support staff by delivering high quality occupational therapy assessments, interventions, formulation, and consultation.

Provision of clinical leadership, supervision, and guidance to the team and others as required.

These will be undertaken within an accessible, non-stigmatising, service that contributes to the specialist needs of the individuals referred.
