Main duties of the job

Are you a forward-thinking pharmacist with a passion for digital transformation in healthcare? We are looking for a Highly Specialist Clinical Informatics Pharmacist to lead and support the implementation, development, and optimisation of our electronic prescribing and medicines administration (EPMA) systems across the Trust.

In this pivotal role, you will work at the intersection of pharmacy and informatics—project managing EPMA upgrades, ensuring data integrity, supporting billing processes, and collaborating with clinical teams to enhance digital medicines systems. You will also contribute to strategic planning, policy development, and training delivery, while ensuring compliance with national standards and governance frameworks.

We are seeking a dynamic individual with strong leadership, change management, and communication skills. You will need a Master’s degree in Pharmacy, GPhC registration, and experience in clinical pharmacy and digital systems. Additional Information

  • Participation in the EPMA on-call rota is required, including occasional weekend and overnight support (typically 1 in 6 weekends).
  • No driving license required, but flexibility to work across Trust sites may be needed.
  • Compliance with NHS and Trust policies, including safeguarding and information governance, is essential.
Person Specification
Qualifications, knowledge and experience
  • Master\'s Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent level of experience
  • General Pharmaceutical Council registration as a practising pharmacist
  • Foundation management training or relevant experience
  • Specialist knowledge of electronic prescribing and pharmacy computer systems, e.g. CareFlow Medicine Management
  • Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Sound knowledge of clinical pharmacy services acquired while working within a suitable specialty
  • Experience of audit and evaluative work
  • Teaching and tutoring experience
  • Experience of supervising others
  • Experience of implementing change and change management
  • Development and implementation of guidelines and procedures
  • MSc in clinical pharmacy or equivalent experience
  • Can demonstrate Advanced Stage 2 or Mastery competencies in the RPS Advanced Pharmacy Framework in relation to medical or surgical patients
