Highly Specialist Cardiac Physiologist (EP/CRM)

Job Description: Highly Specialist Cardiac Physiologist (EP/CRM) at Nuffield Health at St Bartholomew's | Physiology | Permanent | Full Time

Salary Range: up to £67,550 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Main Duties of the Job

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide a senior skill set. The successful candidate will contribute to service provision within invasive and non-invasive cardiac investigations, specifically within the EP lab. An ability to work flexibly across these different areas would be an advantage; however, exceptional candidates will be considered if they can demonstrate advanced knowledge and skills.

Job Responsibilities

You will have extensive experience managing Cardiac Cath Lab patients across a range of different procedures including: diagnostic intervention, Coronary Angiography and PCI, Structural heart interventions including TAVI, PFO ASD closure, Cardiac Device implant including PPM/ICD/CRT, and electrophysiology procedures, including both RF and Cryo procedures. You should have demonstrable senior-level knowledge and experience and be keen to lead, motivate, educate, and supervise the nursing and multidisciplinary team. All candidates will be expected to work flexibly across a shift pattern of 8-8pm and be part of an on-call rota to further support our service offering.

Successful applicants will be expected to deliver high-quality, clinically effective patient care and contribute to developing and building our charitable aims. Specifically, applicants for this role ideally will be competent and independent in the following:

  • Independent in Cryo ablation, Simple SVT, and other non-3D mapping procedures (Flutter and AV Nodal ablation).
  • Experienced in RF ablation and an independent user of CARTO for AF, AT, and other complex 3D mapping procedures.
  • Independent in CRM Implant and follow-up, including CRT/ICD and HIS/Conduction system pacing.
  • Ideally IBHRE/BHRS accredited for EP and CRM.

Nuffield Health Barts Hospital is the City of London's only independent hospital, situated next to St Bartholomew's NHS hospital. This is our flagship center for cardiac services and provides a full range of surgical and medical services, including orthopaedics, oncology, general surgery, gynecology, and urology services. Our hospital consists of 55 beds, including 7 specialist intensive care beds, four advanced digital operating theatres, an endoscopy and minor ops theatre, 28 consultation rooms, a cardiac catheterisation lab, an oncology day unit, and a full diagnostic imaging suite including MRI, CT, ultrasound, mammography, and general X-ray.
