Job summary

Job description

Southwark CAMHS are looking to recruit to our community CAMHS service: an experienced and motivated highly specialist ADHD Nurse Prescriber to lead on the ADHD pathway in our community.

The successful candidate will be independent and able to work in both a clinical and managerial role, confident in the delivery of ADHD care including ADHD medication management and physical health assessments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership on and contribute clinically to all aspects of the ADHD pathway including screening, assessment, psycho-education, medication management, behavioural management, care planning, risk assessment and management, and transition to adult services.
  • Managing your own caseload of C&YP with ADHD, including more complex cases involving comorbid mental health and neuropsychiatric difficulties.
  • Independent treatment initiation and review within your scope of practice.
  • Liaising with medical colleagues, partner agencies, and adult mental health professionals across a range of settings.
  • Completing risk assessments and care plans.
Requirements
  • First level nursing qualification (registration RMN or RSCN or HV) with related CAMHS experience and MSc level qualification or equivalent.
  • Non-medical prescriber with appropriate NMC registration.
  • Experience of specialist mental health assessment and treatment with children and young people with mental health difficulties.
  • Ability to work independently as an autonomous practitioner with appropriate level of clinical and managerial supervision.
