Job description
Overview

We are a small and friendly team within Respiratory and Sleep Physiology. In this role you will work closely with the Respiratory Consultants and Head of department to ensure the smooth running of the Respiratory Physiology service.

A key part of your role will be supporting the ongoing development of our staff and service by delivering regular training sessions and maintaining the highest clinical standards. This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your expertise and leadership to drive the Respiratory Physiology service forward, playing an important role in the next phase of the NHS recovery plan.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Sleep Service by actively participating in sleep study analysis and managing CPAP therapy.
  • Deliver full lung function tests, initiate and follow up CPAP therapy, and set up and analyse home sleep studies.
  • Play a key role in the delivery of the Respiratory Physiology Service at Preston CDC, Royal Preston and Chorley District Hospitals and support day‑to‑day running of sleep and respiratory physiology services.
  • Quality assurance and training of junior staff.
Qualifications
  • Perform a full range of respiratory investigations including spirometry, diffusion, plethysmography, bronchial challenge testing, exercise testing and assessment of sleep disorders.
  • Self‑motivated, well organised, excellent interpersonal skills and a flexible attitude.
  • Willingness to travel between sites.
