Job responsibilities

Qualifications

  • BSc Clinical Physiology or equivalent
  • Echocardiography accreditation (British Society of Echocardiography level 2 or equivalent) with up-to-date continuing professional development

Desirable

  • 3 years post accreditation experience
  • HCPC registered/eligible
  • Immediate Life Support or above

Experience

  • Contemporary experience in performing and reporting transthoracic echocardiography in adult patients
  • Background in techniques involved in assessment and therapy for cardiac disease
  • Technical skills for measurement and analysis of physiological parameters, including 12 lead ECG & blood pressure
  • Ability to interpret fundamental ECG abnormalities

Desirable experience

  • Competency in strain imaging
  • Competency in 3D imaging
  • Competency in the use of ultrasound enhancing agents
  • Experience in complex pathologies in a cardiac surgery centre
Skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • High dexterity and concentration for echo probe manipulation
  • Good computer skills and ability to troubleshoot image acquisition, transfer and reporting systems
