  2. To provide an efficient running of the technical service by prioritising daily workloads.
  3. To maintain standards of technical competency in the provision of non-invasive diagnostic cardiac procedures.
  4. To take shared responsibility for the daily review and prioritising of inpatient requests for echocardiograms, by liaising with ward/medical staff and ensuring availability of technical staff/resources.
  5. To contribute to the day to day running of the echo service, ensuring that all equipment is operational and clean and that stock levels are adequate.
  6. To promptly report equipment faults and directly resolve these with the relevant company engineers.
  7. To provide first line interpretation and full technical reports of individual tests performed whilst reviewing/assisting with the reporting of studies performed by junior staff.
  8. To participate/lead in bi-weekly Echo MDT meetings.
  9. To respond to emergency situations appropriately, maintaining relevant BLS/ILS training.
  10. To assist with research studies as required.
  11. To remain up to date with latest trends in clinical physiology, translating these into practice and disseminating knowledge to staff.
  12. To ensure all patients receive appropriate and individualised care.
  13. To undertake other areas of service provision if required.

  2. Take ownership for own learning and professional development to maintain personal portfolio.
  3. Perform and interpret routine Transthoracic Echocardiograms.
  4. Perform and interpret other cardiac diagnostic tests to meet with service needs. This may include ETT, Tilt, analysis, TAVI and Coronary intervention (PCI) including primary PCI intervention 24/7 (relevant training will be given as necessary).
  5. Undertake high quality TTE studies adhering to relevant clinical guidelines and protocols with support required as needed.
