Higher Scientist – Vaccines

Contract: Full time / fixed term for 2 years

The MHRA is transforming. Through enabling innovation, making the right judgements of the benefits and risks of medical products and forging the right partnerships in the UK and internationally, it aims to deliver world class regulation and improved outcomes for UK patients.

We are currently looking for a Higher Scientist – Vaccines to join our Research & Development function within the Science, Research & Innovation group.

Within a week of working here, your day could look like this:

1. Supporting the tuberculosis research programme focused on vaccine development, immunological assessment, and vaccinology;
2. Effectively engaging in the smooth running of containment levels 2 & 3 on a day-to-day basis with the team;
3. Fostering effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders, as required by ongoing research projects.

Our successful candidate will have a degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience, demonstrable good knowledge of and practical experience in cellular immunoassays, demonstrated experience working at the Containment Level III and ideally with Mycobacterium tuberculosis, and experience of managing and processing large complex data sets and maintaining databases of information.
