Job summary

The Aspire Federation in Hindley, Wigan area is seeking dynamic Higher-Level Teaching Assistants to join Oakfield High School, Landgate School & Aspire College. You will work 35 hours per week, term time plus 1 week, providing HLTA-qualified support for learners with complex needs across federation sites.

Applicants should have NVQ Level 4 Teaching Assistant/HLTA or equivalent, with commitment to pursuing HLTA if not yet qualified within 12 months.

The Role

We are in an exciting position and looking to appoint dynamic, inspirational, energetic and creative Higher-Level Teaching Assistants. The successful candidates will have evidence of;

• An NVQ Level 4 Teaching Assistant/HLTA qualification or equivalent level of qualification in relevant area or showing a commitment of working towards this (HLTA qualification must be gained within 12 months of starting).
• Flexibility, resilience and creativity.
• Building positive relationships with staff, parents and other professionals.
• Outstanding classroom practice, being able to plan and deliver structured activities that interest and motivate learners, advancing their learning.

Working with learners with complex needs requires significant emotional resilience, adaptability and flexibility, particularly when working with those who are dysregulated. However, seeing the progress our children and young people make and knowing that your work contributes to their growth, confidence and independence makes this work highly rewarding.
