Job description

Job Title: Higher-Level Teaching Assistant

The Head Teacher and Governors are seeking to appoint a full-time Higher-Level Teaching Assistant from September 2025.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will primarily deliver whole-class sessions across the school, providing cover for Teachers’ PPA time. While a range of subjects will be delivered, experience in PE, Music, and French would be beneficial. The role may also involve providing intervention for individuals and groups of children. The individual should be enthusiastic and highly motivated, contributing significantly to pupil progress.

Candidate Requirements
  1. Meet the Higher-Level Teaching Assistant Standards or hold an equivalent qualification.
  2. Experience working across Early Years and the primary phase.
  3. High expectations of children’s achievement and behaviour.
  4. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupils’ welfare.
  5. Experience supporting pupils’ personal, social, and emotional well-being.
  6. Experience supporting pupils with special educational needs.
  7. Confidence in delivering successful sessions to whole classes.
  8. Support the development of the whole child within a supportive school community.
Selection Process

Shortlisting will occur on Monday, 2nd June 2025, with interviews scheduled for the week commencing Monday, 9th June 2025. Successful candidates will be notified accordingly.

Wardley Primary School is a registered KidsSafe school, emphasizing safety and safeguarding. The appointment process will include rigorous safeguarding checks. The successful candidate will be required to apply for an enhanced Disclosure.
