Higher Level Teaching Assistant (SEN)

Location: Effingham, Surrey
Contract: Fixed Term (until December 2025), Full-Time
Salary: £27,713 - £30,250 (dependent on qualifications) + £2,000 Welcome Bonus for HLTAs with SEN experience

About the Role:

We are seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a specialist SEN school in Effingham, Surrey. The successful candidate will:

Lead lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
Support teaching and learning by delivering well-structured activities to individuals, small groups, or full classes.
Monitor and support pupil progress, adapting teaching approaches to meet individual needs.
Play an active role in safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare.
Support students with behavioural and communication needs, ensuring a positive and engaging environment.

About You:

We are looking for someone who is:
Passionate about SEN education and dedicated to student success.
Experienced in working with autistic students or those with complex learning needs.
Skilled in adapting lessons to support different abilities.
A confident communicator, able to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
Qualified at Level 4 or above (HLTA Diploma or equivalent essential).
GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4 or equivalent) essential.
