Role: HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant)
Location: Wednesbury
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-Time Monday - Friday 8.30aqm - 3.30pm
Salary: 115 - 130 per day (dependent on experience)

Empowering Learning are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a successful and inclusive primary school in Wednesbury. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young learners and ready to take on a whole class teaching role.

The school caters for children from Nursery to Year 6 and has a strong reputation for providing an excellent education to pupils from a wide range of backgrounds. The setting has a high number of children with SEND and is proud of the individual progress these pupils make. The environment is nurturing, inclusive, and built on strong staff collaboration.

Higher Level Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Delivering pre-planned lessons to whole classes to cover teacher PPA, leadership time, training and school development initiatives
    Providing feedback in line with the school's marking and feedback policy
    Maintaining strong behaviour management in line with school expectations
    Working closely with school leaders and contributing to the wider school community
    Offering flexibility and support across year groups where needed

You'll be managed and supported by senior leaders in the school, and receive ongoing training through annual appraisals and whole-school CPD.

Higher Level Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • HLTA status or equivalent experience
    Flexible, adaptable and committed to pupil progress
    Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
    Fluent spoken English - essential under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016
    Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
