Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Helston

A supportive and inclusive school in Helston is looking to appoint a confident and capable Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced TA looking to step up, or for a qualified HLTA seeking a new challenge in a nurturing, community-focused environment.

About the role:
You'll work closely with class teachers to support pupils across key stages, lead small group sessions, and deliver planned lessons in the teacher's absence. The role may also include targeted intervention work and occasional one-to-one support for pupils with additional needs.

What you'll be doing:

  • Supporting teaching and learning across the curriculum

  • Leading small group or whole-class learning when required

  • Assisting with assessment and pupil progress tracking

  • Helping to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment

  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff and SEN teams

We're looking for someone with:

  • HLTA status (or equivalent experience)

  • Recent school-based experience, ideally in KS1 or KS2

  • Strong behaviour management and classroom leadership skills

  • Flexibility, reliability, and a proactive approach

  • A genuine passion for supporting children's education and wellbeing
