Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Long Term Futures - Long-term to Perm
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time, term-time only
Pay: 115 - 125 per day

Long Term Futures are recruiting on behalf of a supportive and progressive secondary school, seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This is a long-term position, with the opportunity to move into a permanent role following a successful placement.

As a HLTA, you'll work closely with teaching staff to deliver learning activities, lead small groups or classes, and support pupils in achieving their full potential. You'll also take on a mentoring role with other support staff and play an active part in wider school life.

Job Requirements

  • HLTA qualification (or willingness to complete it within two years)
  • GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths - minimum Grade C/4
  • Previous experience working in a secondary school
  • Sound understanding of the national curriculum
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND, EAL or behavioural needs
  • Confident using ICT to support learning and planning
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one
